[to Becca] What do you love most about your body?
“For me its that, without it I wouldn’t have Amelia. It still amazes me what a woman’s body can do. As for my boobs they fed my baby, and those are moments when our bond grew so much.”
What advice about body image and bras do you give Amelia?
“Focus on looking after your health and mental health rather than worrying about looks. Your quirks make you, and that makes you beautiful. When I was Amelia’s age, I wish I’d known that the other girls were too self-conscious about their changing bodies to worry about mine.”
What do you wish you could change about society’s attitudes to women’s bodies?
“I wish society didn’t put so much pressure on young girls to look a certain way. Teen years are hard enough. I’ve seen a huge change since I was a teen and just hope as a society we strive for better.”
What advice would you give to anyone self-conscious or unconfident about their own body?
“Love yourself! If all goes well, you and your body are going to be together for a long time. Love it for the things it helps you do. Embrace those bits you don’t love – you wouldn’t be you without them.”
