But what does that mean for you, and your bras? The longer your bra lasts, the better it is for the environment. Of course, that has to be balanced with what’s best for your body, too. That’s why we promise to only source the very best quality fabrics and trims, to make your Royce bra as comfortable, supportive and long-lasting as possible.
We’ve a long way to go, but we’ve launched our first organic bra, Eden. We’re constantly researching sustainable fabrics and trimmings and aim to have at least 20% of our full range made from organic or recycled fabrics. Using recycled materials helps to transition into a more circular fashion economy, creating a business that is restorative and regenerative by design.
A bra’s recommended lifespan is 12 months – and we’re proud to say ours are built to last. But, of course, you need to take good care of them.
Don’t make the mistake of thinking your old bras belong in the bin. There is life in them yet! Recycle, recycle, recycle. But how?
You’ll never get a year’s worth of wear from an ill-fitting bra. If it’s uncomfortable, or doesn’t look right, you won’t want to wear it!
With clothing consumption producing 1.5 tonnes of CO2 per household per year – the equivalent of 6000 cars – we’ve got to do something. It’s estimated that by 2030, we’ll create 148 million tonnes of textile waste per year, equal to 17.5kg per person.
The best time to put a stop to this should have been decades ago. The second best time is now.
