Don’t panic, as every Royce bra can be safely machine washed on a 30-degree delicate cycle. Not only is a 30-degree wash gentle on the fabric, but it’s sustainable, too. According to Ariel, washing your laundry at 30 degrees or lower uses up to 57% less energy per cycle. It’s win-win!
Always separate your darks, lights, and whites to avoid colour bleeding and keep your whites white. It’s a good idea to do up all your bra hooks and place your lingerie in a mesh bag before they go in the washing machine to protect them, too.
Aim to wash your bra every two to five wears, depending on your skin type. Skin oils, perfumes and deodorants can degrade a bra’s elastic. So, if you’ve had a particularly sweaty day, or you have super oily skin, it’s probably best to wash it. Otherwise, wear it for another day or two.
You can alternate which one you’re wearing. If you use the same one every single day, it’ll wear out more quickly. You might not know this, but a bra actually needs time to ‘rest’ between uses. The material’s fibres – especially elastane – need to recover after being stretched during wear.
